Control system for water press for open die forgingì
Lucchini RS needed to increase the efficiency of its outdated 4200 tons press driven by cam-operated valves. Choosing Inoxihp as supplier of a turnkey revamping service was a logical consequence of the consolidated relationships of collaboration.
Inoxihp provided a new control system based on the use of oil-driven valves from the VPE range (proportional valves) and the VPL range (on/off valves). The safety of the installation was improved by installing VSP anti-fall valves and a VIT range on/off valve with electromechanical actuator.
A control system was supplied built into the press with the possibility of managing different plant operating modes: manual, semi-automatic, automatic and finishing.
Inoxihp was in charge of the entire installation, including piping, cabling and assembly. The time frame for completing the plant was a highly challenging factor, but the experience and professionalism of Inoxihp allowed to complete the entire installation in just three weeks.
The new control system resulted in significant improvements in the performance of the press which now exceeds 45 cycles/min in finishing mode, with remarkable improvements in precision as well.
The plant was also fitted with a refined control system with wide ranging adjustment and monitoring of devices, allowing all the data to be viewed on a local display or exported to the SCADA system on the surface.
